Hello from Texas!

Hello from Texas! It has been an awesome tour so far and we have made lots of new friends along the way. Currently I am sitting in the lobby of our hotel, enjoying my 3rd or so cup of their delicious "Bold Beginnings" brew. Today is our first true day off... which interestingly isn't really a day off at all. There are always people to respond to, videos to be made, shows to be booked, merchandise designs to review etc. etc. Not that I am complaining. Everyone in this band likes to work hard for the goal we are driving (literally and metaphorically) towards.

One of the most amazing aspects of tour is how four guys can be around each other nearly every second for over a month and still get along and have fun together. This has thus far been the best tour we have been on. The most fun, best sounding and inspiring. We are down to the core group now. Each of us realizes that we have an awesome opportunity in front of us, and we are all equally motivated to achieve it. We can not thank everyone who continues to support us enough.

We have played a lot of shows already, from Boise, Idaho to San Antonio, Texas. This next week is going to be blast. We will be performing at and attending many of the festivals going on in Austin. We have been told by numerous sources that SXSW is amazing and like no other festival. As always, we will be keeping everyone up to date with any developments.

If you get Discovery HD Theatre make sure you tune in this Thursday @ 9:00 p.m. to check out our music being featured on the show Catchin' Air. It is a really awesome show about kite boarding with some pretty amazing scenic shots.

Hey everyone!

LOTS of stuff happening right now.

We have two HUGE shows coming up this week. First is our Ugly Sweat Party this Friday (12/17) at Ray's Golden Lion in Richland, Washington. The show is also a food drive, and bringing two cans of food gets you $1 off. Wear an ugly sweater and you get another $1 off. Not too shabby.

Our second show is Saturday (12/18) at the Showbox SoDo in Seattle. We are playing with The Classic Crime and This Providence. Guaranteed to sell out, so get there early or buy tickets online.

We have been writing and recording music the last two weeks and are super stoked about what we have been doing. We really want this EP to be something special for our fans. Keep checking back for updates.

Hey all you EA fans!

First, thanks to everyone that have been coming out to our shows! The last couple of weeks we rocked Hanson, UW Bothell, Western Oregon University and Oregon Institute of Technology. We love hearing from people at the shows, so make sure to add us on Facebook, Myspace etc. and keep in touch with us.

We have a couple really big announcements to make. The first is an upcoming EP that we are aiming to put out before the end of the year. One of the advantages of not being on a label is that we are able to release as much music as we want, and even though we just finished our album "Jump Into Life" we have a bunch of music kicking around that we want to record and get out to keep things fresh. But here is the deal; it is going to be an extremely limited release. We are only going to print 1,000 of these special edition EPs, and the music may never be released to the masses. The only place to buy the CDs will either be off our website in a physical copy or directly from us at shows. Why? Well... it is a bit of a complicated answer, but most basically it comes down to how we want to approach music from now on. We want to have an intimate relationship with our fans, where we are able to always bring new content to the people who want it the most. These EPs are going to allow us to do that AND it will support us financially to keep doing what we do.

The second announcement is going to be a bunch of new merchandise, available first at the November 26 show at Jackson's in Kennewick. New shirt designs and hoodies for the winter. Check back soon to see the new designs!

What happened to the time?

Wow, it has been a long time with no new news! Well... we are going to fix that!

So, we have been on the road the last couple months promoting the album and meeting some really great people. We would like to thank everyone who has come out to shows and supported us by buying our albums and merch. It means the world to us that we can do this as our living, and we really do owe it to everyone that supports us. So, thank you!

We have a bunch of shows coming up, so you should always check out www.eclecticapproach.com and www.myspace.com/eclecticapproach to make sure you are up to date and see if we are coming anywhere near you.

We are going to be posting a list of record stations for you to call and request our songs soon. Until then, go to iTunes and review the album and let people know what you think! Also Amazon.com would be a huge help because I don't think there are any reviews up yet.

'SNew? Record Release!

Hey y'all! So, the album is finally out and there has been an overwhelmingly positive response! As a band we really feel that we delivered on what we set out to accomplish. This is really apparent when we walk around towns, approaching complete strangers with headphones and ask them to tell us what they think. Almost without fail they give us this really inquisitive look, like we are trying to pull one over on them, and then ask us if it is really our band. This is usually followed by some genuine shock on their part and their remarking that, "Wow! This is really good!" It is the most awesome experience ever.

So, we did the CD release show in Seattle, which was an overwhelming success, but this Friday is really going to be the show that everyone has been looking forward to. It is a homecoming of sorts, and it is going to give everyone who couldn't make it to Seattle the opportunity to come see an awesome show (all ages), pick up the album and hang out with us. We also have a ton of new merchandise for the hometown crowd to rock around town, so make sure you are there! We want everyone to be able to make it in, but this show will sell out for sure, so make sure you are there early!

Montucky Hospitality

Last night was our second night in Montana. What an awesome place! The people have been unbelievably kind and receptive to our music. In fact, last night although we were scheduled to finish at 8, the owner invited us to play longer for free beer and food today... not a bad deal when your diet mostly consists of black beans and wraps.

These last few weeks have been quite an adventure. It has really shown us that as long as we stick with it, big things are going to happen. We are getting better and better musically, and, to everyones surprise, we are all still getting along! Everyone got a bit concerned when our 15 passenger van broke down right before the tour, and we started out on our journey crammed into a 5 seat Ford Exploder. Not ideal accommodations for five dudes to say the least. But, we probably wouldn't have had it any other way. If we can survive this, from here on out we will be touring in luxury.

Road Update #2. Or, Seth's Greatest Fear Realized

So, your first thought may be why there was no update yesterday. One very simple reason: no internet. Accept my deepest apologies.

First, Salt Lake City was amazing. Thank you so much to JoyLynn and Juliet for letting us crash at your place and use your tent! Although it did lead to.... the realization of Seth's Greatest Fear! Well, at least according to him at the time of setting up the tent. Read on for full details.

As we were setting up our borrowed tent, Seth made his way into the tent to bring in some of our camping items. As he was doing so he mentioned that his greatest fear would be if the wind picked up the tent and took off with him in it. This was not a major concern at the time, being that there was no wind, but it was an understandable fear nonetheless.

Well, we jammed, ate and slept.

Cut to the next morning.

I woke up being slapped in the face by the side of the tent, sunk into a mostly deflated air mattress. Turns out we overslept and had to rush to make it to a radio interview in Grand Junction, Colorado. Ryan and I began pulling our stuff out of the tent, fighting with the wind storm that had blown in overnight. Seth was the unfortunate casualty of a lot of weight being removed from the tent very quickly. No sooner had we removed all the beds and sleeping materials, a gust of wind came up and began flipping the tent over. Seth, panicked and hysterical, began screaming, "This was my greatest fear!!!!!! No, no, no!"

Unfortunately for him, the whole scene struck me as about the most hilarious thing I had seen all day, so I was doubled over in the lawn, unable to lend a hand. The gust finally died down and Seth was a able to crawl out of the mostly upside down tent.

Today we are playing in Grand Junction. Mav... or perhaps MAV-fest. We are meeting some great people and are having some great times, so make sure to check back tomorrow for more stories from the road!

On The Road Again

So much news!

First, our album is finally finished! It has been a long time coming, but we promise you it is well worth the wait. Look for

a release date and show to be posted soon! Check out the myspace and purevolume for some samples of the album. Also, check out the purevolume main page where we are featured under "Picks & Promos." The momentum is building!

We are currently 5 days into our "About Ready To Jump Into Life" tour, which takes us through Washington, Idaho, Colorado, Utah and Montana. The crowds have been amazing and we are getting so see some amazing country. There will be daily road updates from here on out, so make sure to check back for updates. Also, be sure to check out the website and myspace to see if we are coming through your area!

PB & J, cops, recording...

We are back in the studio today! Rockin' it... lovin' it. Everything is sounding amazing!

The best part of today, however, was when I was crossing the street from the studio and was suddenly surrounded by cops telling me that I matched the description of somebody that was trying to steal a car down the street. Now, I realize that I could shave and cut my hair... but really?! Then the cops see a homeless-hippie-guitar-carrying guy walking down the street and say, "Maybe that's him!" ......... What exactly was the description? "Musician looking person trying to steal a car."

Awesome.

So, I casually asked the cops if I could at least go into the 7 Eleven and get what I was going to get. They say "Sure, sure." I walk in and naturally there are five guys in there staring at me, so I smile and tell them that I think they have the wrong guy. I continue to buy my two 'Four Loko' malt beverage bum drinks and run out the door screaming "It was ME!!!!!!!" pouring the Four all over my face and sprinting down the street. That lasted about 30 seconds until they caught up to me and took me down with extreme prejudice.

Ok, so that last part didn't happen... but it crossed my mind. Really, I bought water and sat on the curb until they told me I could go... because I wasn't the right person....?

Hey Everyone! We are having a fantastic week over here in Eclectic Land, and we hope that all of you are having a great week too!

Hey everyone! Hopefully ya'll had an awesome Valentine's Day weekend! Thank you to everyone who ordered the Custom Valentine's Day songs, we had a blast doing them and we hope you and your significant others enjoyed be cuddled up together listening to the smooth, sexy sounds of Eclectic Approach. If you have an occasion that you want us to write a song for, shoot us a couple of paragraphs of info and we can work out the details with you.

We are super stoked about this week! We finally get to go back to Spokane to rock The Blvd on Friday, and get to play our first all ages show in the Tri-Cities since forever ago. These are going to be amazing shows, so make sure you are there! If you have any questions email us and we will get back to you ASAP!

The new album is getting closer and closer to being done! It is sounding incredible and we really can't wait for everyone to be able to hear it. We will be announcing a release date soon, so watch out for that!

UW Tacoma, four shows this week... and PANIC!

Hey everyone! What a week we have coming up! More on that in a minute.

Thank you to everyone who came out to the UW Tacoma show! It was an awesome show and we all had a great time partying with everyone. Of course we wish we could have stayed for the dance party... maybe next time.

This week we have a LOT of shows coming up. First is a Haiti benefit show in Twisp, Washington on Tuesday. Then we head back to Seattle, hit the streets for some good ol' fashioned promotion for our HUGE Thursday show at The Crocodile. Friday brings us to Boise, Idaho for a show at The Reef and finally we end at the College of Idaho in Caldwell.

New merchandise is going to be available soon! We have some awesome new designs from everyone's favorite bassist and artist, Seth Humphrey. Check the website soon for order details!

Lastly, we have completed all of the Custom Valentine's Day songs, so we are opening it up one last time. People are loving these, and for only 75 bucks they are a pretty awesome gift. Haiti Concert

Over the last few weeks EA has watched the unbelievable suffering taking place in Haiti. Although we individually made contributions, as a band we wanted to do more.

On February 2nd we will be performing in Twisp, Washington to raise money for Haiti relief. For anybody able to attend, it will be held at the Twisp River Pub and is sure to be an amazing time. If you are unable to attend, please donate through one of the many reputable relief funds.

People really do need our immediate action, so motivate as many people as you can to donate and we hope to see you out at the show!

A Thank You and an Apology

Thank you to everyone who came out to support us at the Showbox! It was an awesome evening with our friends, and we were all super stoked to finally be on the Showbox stage.

We are extremely sorry that the venue decided last minute to change the show from all ages. We had absolutely no say in the decision. We are currently booking all ages shows in Seattle and the Tri-Cities, so if you came to the Showbox show and were not able to get in, just let us know and we will be sure to get you a ticket. We realize it is a small consolation, but we want to let everyone know who came out that we deeply regret them being turned away, and we are going to do everything within our power in the future to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Pizzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzza!

This last weekend was one of firsts for Eclectic Approach! We believe that we finally cracked the Seattle music scene and are on our way to the top of the national music scene. On Saturday, no lie folks, we had the opportunity to play the preeminent Pizza establishment in Lynnwood, Washington! Our music gently eased the crowd into digestion, and as they sat, fully satisfied by the meal they just consumed, they kicked back and watched what may have been our best show... ever. Both the people in the crowd agreed.

Amante Pizza means a lot to each of us. It was the inspiration for our song "Having Such a Good Time" and continues to inspire us to create and do our best! Thank you Amante!

With so much happening for us, I want to take this opportunity to reflect on what the first 18 days of 2010 (twenty-ten people, not two thousand ten) has brought the band. Here are the Top 5!

Brittany Hollenbach Memorial

Having almost lost Jowed to pneumonia a few months ago, our band became keenly aware of the fragility of life. It became apparent to each of us that we needed to make the most of the opportunity we have been given and begin giving back to the community that has given so much to us.

One such opportunity was presented to us with the passing of Brittany Hollenbach.

For those who don't know, Brittany was a 22 year old University of Washington student whose life was tragically ended after being struck by a car. Brittany had been a fan of EA since we performed at her high school prom, and as recently as last year had attended shows at UW. We received a phone call from a friend asking if our band could write a song for her memorial service, which we promptly agreed to do. After hearing all the great things about her life, we wanted to be able to capture a piece of her life in our song.

December 20th, 2009 we will be performing at the Richland High Auditorium for her memorial service. The doors open at 1pm, the ceremony begins at 2pm. Everyone is invited to attend.

It is our hope that this song is able to ease the suffering of anyone who has lost someone close to them, and as such will be available as a free download at www.eclecticapproach.com.
